overview

Coffee and brewing gear from a Cairo roaster, on a storefront, a commerce API and an admin app.

challenge

One bag is a weight and a grind, and the same beans leave the roastery as whole bean, espresso, V60 or Turkish. The last bag on the shelf can only be sold once.

approach

Three applications: a Next.js storefront that reaches the API only through its own routes, an Express and Mongoose API where each stock change is one guarded write, and an admin app for the roastery. Prismic holds the brew guides and the editorial pages.

outcome

Single origins sit beside the Comandante and the Stagg, priced in pounds and shipped by governorate, with the roastery setting its own grinds and stock.
