About the role
A handful of our engagements are small enough that one engineer carries the whole stack — and we want to staff those well. You will run point on smaller end-to-end projects (typically two-to-three month builds), and step in as a generalist on larger ones when the team needs it.
What you'll do
- Lead small full-stack projects from kickoff to launch.
- Switch contexts well: API design Monday, motion polish Friday.
- Set up the project so the next engineer can find their way through it.
- Be the person who knows where the env var lives.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years across frontend (React or Svelte) and backend (Node).
- Comfort owning a project end-to-end — including the awkward 80% middle.
- Deployment fluency: at least one of Vercel, Netlify, Fly, or Railway.
- Strong written communication.
Nice to have
- Comfort with CMS plumbing (Prismic, Sanity, Strapi).
- Past freelance / agency experience.
