Before the Options Narrow

Building a brand for a business law firm whose whole job is arriving early.

Most law firm websites look the same. Navy, a column, a skyline, a handshake. They are trying to look established, and the result is that none of them look like anything.

MASAR advises Egyptian and foreign companies on business law before disputes start. That last part is the whole firm. They are not the people you call when it is already in court. They are the people you call while you still have choices.

One sentence first

We did not start with a logo. We started with a line that the founders could say out loud without blushing: the law should arrive before the options narrow. Every later decision was checked against it. If a choice made the firm look like it shows up late and impressive, it went.

A path, not a pillar

The name means path, so the graphic language became one. Thin lines that step and turn at right angles with soft corners, like a route drawn on a plan. They run behind the pages, across the posters and through the deck. They say movement and planning without a single scale of justice in sight.

The palette is a deep forest green, an ivory and one clay accent. Green because it reads calm and long term. Clay because a firm that talks about arriving early needs one warm thing to look at.

Two languages, one firm

Half of MASAR's clients read Arabic first and half read English first. So the site is built in both from the start, on SvelteKit and Prismic, with the Arabic wordmark sitting above the Latin one in the logo rather than hiding in a footer. Neither language is the translation.

What we kept off the site

  • Stock photos of handshakes, gavels and skylines.
  • Lists of every practice area as equal tiles.
  • Any line the founders would not say in a first meeting.

The result is quieter than most firms in the city, and that is the point. When your advice is meant to come early, the brand should feel like a clear head, not a closing argument.
